a domesticated fig tree
still yearns to fly
puts all its energy
into a dream
gazing at the sky
no fruit this year
or the next or next
desire blocks nature
wind blows bough
cradles will fall
but without soaring
no signifying is made
an experienced gardener
knows it's not wind
beneath wings that's needed
but attending to roots
want to fly?
suck manure and bless rain
behold! transformation
fruit enough for all
